Light Energy offers several types and sizes of full spectrum extra bright fluorescent tubes. The regular diameter is called T-12, and the new thinner tubes, which require a
special fixture, are called T-8's. T-8's use a electronic ballast. If you are installing new fixtures or remodeling we recommend T-8's.
The Full Spectrum tubes are rated at 5000K (Kelvin degrees) with a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 94 or higher, and last 33,000 hours. Outdoor sunlight is rated at 7500K with a CRI of
100. We strongly recommend that electronic ballasts power your fluorescent fixtures. The 25,000 cycles per second will
eliminate the annoying tube flicker, reduce fixture radiation and increase power efficiency. Normal magnetic ballasts, which
operate at 60 cycles per second, are a contributing factor to headaches and eyestrain due to the flicker produced.
Available in 18 inch, two-foot, three-foot, and four-foot tube lengths. Also available: U-bends,
8.5 and 12.5-inch circular, and PL-13, PL-18 and PL-55 desk lamp replacements.
Please call for price quotes on those types of lights not listed to the right.
